Aerial Photography.
As a business tool, a real estate sales aid, or legal evidence, aerial photography in the Chicago area has many uses. Mr. Wyckoff, an experienced pilot as well as aerial photographer, has intimate knowledge of Chicago's busy airspace and we use our own aircraft rather than renting one to maximize safety as well as keep costs low. With over 30 years of experience in aerial photography in Chicago, our aerial photographs are unmatched in quality, sharpness, and rich color. The advent of digital photography has improved the results and removed many of the limitations on aerial photography.
For our aerial photography, we fly a Piper Warrior specially outfitted with dual opening "storm windows" and can shoot from either side. There is no wing strut to get in the way of our view and we are not required to perform any unusual attitudes to get aerial photographs that are approximately from 30 to 60-degree angles. Verticals are beyond the scope of what we offer and an aerial mapping firm should be contacted for these pictures.
Aerial photo digital files are delivered as 50 Megabyte Tiff files for use up to and including 11"x 17" magazine-quality reproduction. Wall prints are available up to 17 x 22". Smaller web-friendly files are also included on the final disk. All rights to the pictures we make belong to the customer upon receipt of payment.
Prices.
All aerial phtoography is billed at $650 per hour of flight time with a one hour minimum. This includes aircraft, pilot and photographer as well as all images in maximum resolution and all rights to the photos. We use DuPage Airport as our aerial photography base and the hourly charges start when the engine starts. Locations within a 35-mile radius of DuPage Airport can be photographed within the one hour time frame. Generally, each 50 mile increment past that adds another hour to the total job.
